Benalla Rider to Take on Australia's Best This weekend at Winton |

Benalla rider Greg Van Beek is set to take on the first round of the 2009 Motul Formula Xtreme TT Series at Winton Motor Raceway this weekend. Van Beek is hoping to use his home track advantage to gain some valuable points in the championship. Van Beek will be riding his Yamaha R6 in the Superstock 600 class this weekend.
"It’s (Winton) a tough track pretty technical to learn but its definitely one of my favorite tracks” Van Beek said. “I always enjoy being able to race in front of family and friends, and living so close to the track is also an advantage” Van Beek added. Joining forces with Tampered Motorsport early this month, it will be Van Beek’s first race meeting with the team. Tampered Motorsport has been involved with motor racing for a long time, but this sees the first step into motorcycle racing. “It is exciting to have Greg on board, he is a good talented rider and are looking forward to a long relationship” Team Manager Adam Ronke said. “We are already fairly established within the car racing scene, with Greg we can now set ourselves up within the motorcycle racing scene.” Ronke added. Racing will commence at 9am each day, tickets are available at the gate. |
